Lidl opened a “new concept” store in Gorey Co.Wexford in October, the first of its kind in the country.

Lidl’s “new concept” store the largest Lidl in the country, at nearly 30,000 square feet and two stories tall.

This “new concept” design boasts many benefits over the existing Lidl model. With a larger warehouse, wider aisles, new improved customer and staff facilities, new operational practice to maximise productivity, as well as a large emphasis on efficient energy use.

ARDEX were delighted to partner with Lidl on this project. Below are some of the products that were used on this project:

ARDEX P4 Primer: This is a solvent-free primer for internal and external use on absorbent and non-absorbent backgrounds. It produces a textured surface and is especially effective in facilitating the adhesion of cement-based tile adhesives in tile-on-tile applications. ARDEX p4 dries in 30-60 mins and produces a textured surface “grip”. It can also be diluted to improve coverage and the white pigment helps clearly identify which areas have been primed.

ARDEX-Flex FS: During the production of this tile grout, we colour test every batch before we decant into bags and our advanced manufacturing process ensures uniform colour distribution of the grout powder which eliminates ‘streaking’ during mixing. Resulting in the best possible finish when used. This grout is available in 32 colours and is suitable for joint widths up to 4mm wide. ARDEX-Flex FS is also water resistant and repellent making it suitable for swimming pools, showers and kitchens.
